I'm going to start this off by apologizing for the lack of posts in the past few months, with my crazy work schedule comes lack of interest in anything other than sleep. But, I'm going to try my damn hardest to keep up with this blog. I forgot how much writing about music keeps me sane and I feel like I'm genuinely connected to the most amazing thing in the world. The love I have for music will never die out or fade and I plan on sharing that same passion with as many people as I can. To end this mush-fest, here's a song that reminds me of the late 90's for some reason. I think it's the organization of the sound or possibly the lyrics but I have the urge to throw on a flannel shirt, grab my Sony Walkman and just listen to the sound.
Working a full time job, made me forget I had an awesome blog to maintain. Along with a bunch of new music and videos, I also have to catch the Grammy's tomorrow night so I can take a shot for everytime I don't agree with the winners.
When Paramore first announced the departure of two it's founding members in December 2010, it was a shock for all fans. But the remaining three members handled the news by diving into writing new songs. The first song the band wrote together was "In the Mourning." The song was accompanied by a video of Hayley Williams and Taylor York acoustically performing the song. I have to admit it's a different direction for the band know for their pop laced lyrics. But, the song does show a vulnerability within the band.
Exactly at midnight Dec. 6 the new Black Keys album, El Camino graced my iPhone. The 11 track album, embodies a retro tone, but it has some taste of their previous album, Brothers. To promote the album the band performed on Saturday Night Live. To be honest "Lonely Boy" sounded a little off, but "Gold on the Ceiling" became new fave instantly. I'm still determined to see them perform live, it's actually become a huge goal in my life. Screw becoming a millionaire.

Adele, Bruno Mars and Mumford and Sons are all nominated for Record of theYear for the 2012 Grammy Awards.
I usually frown upon the Grammy's every year because of the lack of awesomeness in the nominations, but this year they've really turned around until I saw Sum 41 was nominated.
The mere fact that Maroon 5 got nominated for "Moves like Jagger" makes me wanna give the middle finger to every random person I encounter. Also that Sum 41's nomination is actually real and placed in the Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance category makes me lose faith in society.
Another nice surprise was Tina Fey's autobiography Bossypants was nominated for Best Spoken Word Album. If she doesn't win that one I'm burning something down.
